Tips for Connecting to Grolier and other Databases

The problem connecting to the site may be caused by your computer's security software

What can you do to fix this?

  1. Use the library computer. The library computer should be able to connect without any problems.
  2. Turn off firewall software. If you're comfortable working with your firewall software, you could turn it off for the time you want to connect to these databases.
  3. Add onlinelanguagelearning.com, sals.edu and auth.grolier.com to your list of permitted sites. Your firewall software should allow you to list specific sites that are "ok" to visit.
  4. Ask a geek! If all else fails, find someone you trust who has more computer expertise and bribe them with chocolate to help you out!
